As you can tell by the title, today is the birthday of my most fabulous mother. As I've mentioned before, my mom is the coolest by far. Other people may think that their mom is awesome too, but my mom definitely wins- hands down. Well, what makes your mom so awesome then, you retort? A ridiculous amount of things, including the following (in no particular order):
She taught me about Jesus. She loves DisneyWorld. She earned her doctorate. She collects teddy bears (and names them all, too). She laughs a lot. She takes care of my grandparents and still works full time. She made my veil for my wedding, Liz's veil for her wedding, and will be making Emily's veil as well. She reads a lot. She does lots of crafty things (and sends a large amount to me and her other 'girls'). She plays video games. She paid for my braces...and camps...and cheerleading stuff...and pretty much everything else (yeah, I'll go ahead and write you that check now, Mom). She makes me laugh. She calls me with the absolute most random information and then proceeds to leave me funny messages. She loves her family. She can fit both of her feet inside one of my brother's massive shoes. She is the only person with whom I would want to go after-Christmas sale shopping (don't mess with us- we've been doing it for years and are professionals). She gives great hugs. She isn't afraid to laugh at herself. She supports me and my brother whole-heartedly. She had the most awesome rules concerning bedtime and reading, which I fully intend to implement with my children. She introduced me to the wonderful world of amazingly delicious Christmas cookies and the necessity of listening to Christmas music beginning in October. She loves her friends and prays for them faithfully. She has a signature dance move. When she visits Isaac and me, she buys us groceries (in exchange for being allowed to play on our Wii, of course). She loves giving to others and specifically supporting the youth at her church. She is a darn good writer and made sure both my brother and I knew correct grammar and proper punctuation. Whenever we visit, she makes sure that she has Isaac's favorite cereal on hand and promises a trip to the Apple Market for their mac and cheese. She was my maid of honor at my wedding. Her code name is MTM, for Mom the Magnificent. She is just awesome...
Trust me, I could go on and on, but you'll just have to take my word for it that there is no other mother in the world better than mine. She is pretty darn cool, and I wouldn't trade her for anything. Happy birthday, Momma! I love you!
